Ingredients
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- ¼ tsp salt
- ⅛ tsp black pepper

Melt the 2 tbsp butter in a small saucepan over medium heat until fully melted and bubbling, about 1-2 minutes.

Whisk in the 2 tbsp flour and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture turns light golden and smells nutty, about 1-2 minutes.

Slowly pour in the 1 cup milk while whisking to prevent lumps. Continue whisking until the sauce thickens and coats the back of a spoon, about 3-5 minutes.
