Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • ½ lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 475°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the 1 diced onion and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

Add the 0.5 lb ground beef, 1 tsp paprika, 0.5 tsp salt, and 0.25 tsp black pepper. Cook, breaking up the meat, until browned, about 8 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.

  4. 4

On a floured surface, roll the 1 lb pizza dough into a 12x8 inch oval. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet.

  5. 5

Spread the meat mixture over the dough, leaving a 1 inch border. Fold the edges over the filling, pinching to create a rim.

  6. 6

Beat the 1 egg with the remaining 1 tbsp olive oil. Brush the egg wash over the dough edges and any exposed filling.

  7. 7

Bake until the crust is golden brown and crisp, about 15-18 minutes. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
