Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- ½ medium onion
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- 1
Grate the 0.5 medium onion and squeeze out excess liquid. In a bowl, combine the grated onion, 1 lb ground beef, 0.25 cup breadcrumbs, 1 egg, 1 tsp salt, and 0.5 tsp black pepper. Mix until just combined.
- 2
Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions. Shape each portion around a skewer into a long, oval meatball, pressing firmly so they hold together.
- 3
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, until nicely charred and cooked through (internal temperature reaches 160°F).
- 4
Remove from the grill and let rest for 2 minutes. Serve hot with flatbread, salad, or yogurt sauce.
