Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 2 cups vegetable oil
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup pistachios

Instructions

  1. 1

In a large bowl, mix 2 cups flour, 1 tbsp yeast, 2 tbsp sugar, and 0.5 tsp salt. Gradually add 0.75 cup warm water, stirring until a soft dough forms.

  2. 2

Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.

  3. 3

Heat 2 cups vegetable oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C). Pinch off small pieces of dough and roll into 1-inch balls.

  4. 4

Fry the dough balls in batches, turning occasionally, until golden brown all over, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

Melt 0.5 cup chocolate chips in a microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring until smooth. Drizzle over the warm donuts.

  6. 6

Chop 0.25 cup pistachios and sprinkle over the chocolate. Serve warm or at room temperature.
