Ingredients
- 8 whole garlic cloves, peeled
- ¾ cup neutral oil
- 3 tbsp lemon juice, fresh
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 small handful fresh mint leaves, for serving
Instructions
- 1
Add garlic cloves and salt to a food processor. Pulse until minced finely, about 30 seconds.
- 2
With the processor running, add lemon juice. Let it blend for 15 seconds until the mixture looks pale.
- 3
With processor still running, add oil in a thin, steady stream (takes 3–4 minutes). The sauce will turn thick, glossy, and white.
- 4
If toum breaks (looks grainy or separate), stop. Start fresh with 1 new clove in a clean processor, then slowly add the broken toum back in.
- 5
Transfer to a serving bowl. Top with a drizzle of oil and fresh mint leaves. Serve with pita, vegetables, or grilled chicken.
