Ingredients

  • 1 cup kalamata olives, pitted
  • 2 tbsp capers, drained
  • 1 clove garlic clove
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 loaf baguette, sliced

Instructions

  1. 1

In a food processor, combine the 1 cup olives, 2 tbsp capers, 1 garlic clove, 2 tbsp olive oil, and 1 tbsp lemon juice. Pulse until coarsely chopped, about 10 seconds.

  2. 2

Scrape down the sides and pulse again until the mixture forms a thick paste, about 5 more seconds. Set aside.

  3. 3

Preheat your oven's broiler. Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet in a single layer.

  4. 4

Brush the bread slices with the remaining 1 tbsp olive oil. Broil until golden and crisp, about 2-3 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.

  5. 5

Remove the toast from the oven and let cool slightly. Spread a generous spoonful of tapenade on each slice.

  6. 6

Serve immediately, garnished with a drizzle of olive oil or fresh herbs if desired.
