Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 slices sandwich bread
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 leaves lettuce
Instructions
- 1
In a bowl, whisk together the 4 eggs, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp soy sauce, and 1/4 tsp salt until just combined, about 30 seconds.
- 2
Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Pour in half the egg mixture, tilting to spread evenly.
- 3
When the egg is set but still soft, about 2 minutes, roll it to one side of the pan. Add the remaining egg mixture, lifting the roll to let it flow underneath.
- 4
Cook until the new layer is set, about 2 minutes, then roll the whole omelette into a log. Remove from heat and let rest for 2 minutes.
- 5
Spread 1 tbsp butter on the 2 slices of bread. Place the lettuce leaves on one slice, then slice the tamagoyaki into 4 pieces and layer them on top.
- 6
Close the sandwich with the other bread slice, press gently, and cut in half. Serve immediately.
