Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 stalks scallions, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 pieces flour tortillas (8-inch)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. 1

In a bowl, combine the 1 lb sliced beef, 2 tbsp hoisin sauce, 1 tbsp soy sauce, and 2 minced garlic cloves. Toss to coat and let marinate for 10 minutes.

  2. 2

Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef in a single layer and cook until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate.

  3. 3

Lay the 4 tortillas flat. Divide the cooked beef, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, and 3 sliced scallions evenly among them, placing the filling in the center of each.

  4. 4

Fold the sides of each tortilla over the filling, then roll tightly from the bottom to form a secure roll. Place seam-side down on a plate.

  5. 5

Set up a steamer with water and bring to a boil. Place the rolls in the steamer basket, cover, and steam until the cheese is melted and the tortillas are soft, about 5-7 minutes.

  6. 6

Remove the rolls from the steamer, let cool for 2 minutes, then slice each roll in half diagonally and serve warm.
