Ingredients

  • 8 oz macaroni
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 medium cucumber
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the 8 oz macaroni and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

While pasta cooks, heat the 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the 1 diced onion and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

Add the 2 minced garlic cloves and 1 lb ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking up the meat, until browned and no longer pink, about 8 minutes. Season with the 1 tsp salt and black pepper to taste.

  4. 4

Pour in the 15 oz tomato sauce and stir to combine. Let simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

  5. 5

Add the cooked macaroni to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. Cook for 2 minutes until heated through.

  6. 6

Serve hot, topped with diced cucumber for a fresh crunch.
