Ingredients

  • 2 lb potatoes
  • 1.5 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cup Swiss cheese
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 clove garlic
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or oil.

  2. 2

Peel and thinly slice the 2 lb potatoes (about 1/8-inch thick). Mince the 2 garlic cloves and chop the 1 tbsp rosemary.

  3. 3

In a bowl, whisk together the 1.5 cups heavy cream, 1 egg yolk, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, 1 tsp salt, and 0.5 tsp pepper.

  4. 4

Layer half the potato slices in the dish, pour over half the cream mixture, and sprinkle with 1 cup of the Swiss cheese. Repeat with remaining potatoes, cream, and cheese.

  5. 5

Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake until potatoes are tender and top is golden and bubbly, about 15-20 more minutes.

  6. 6

Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with extra rosemary if desired.
