Ingredients
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons butter
- ½ cup chocolate spread
Instructions
- 1
In a large bowl, whisk together the 1.5 cups flour, 0.25 cup sugar, 1 tsp baking powder, and 0.5 tsp salt.
- 2
In a separate bowl, beat the 1 egg with 1 cup milk and 1 tbsp melted butter until smooth.
- 3
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and stir until just combined; the batter should be lumpy, not overmixed.
- 4
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat and lightly grease with the remaining 1 tbsp butter.
- 5
Pour half the batter into the skillet, spreading it into a thick circle. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the bottom is golden, about 5 minutes.
- 6
Flip the pancake and cook the other side until golden and cooked through, about 3 minutes. Repeat with the remaining batter.
- 7
While still warm, spread 0.25 cup chocolate spread over one pancake, then top with the other pancake to make a sandwich.
- 8
Drizzle with extra chocolate or caramel if desired, then slice into wedges and serve warm.
