Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb beef sirloin
  • ½ cup roasted peanuts
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 medium red onion

Instructions

  1. 1

Soak 8 wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes. Slice the 1.5 lb beef sirloin into thin strips, about 1/4-inch thick.

  2. 2

In a food processor, pulse the 1/2 cup roasted peanuts until finely ground. Add the 2 tbsp paprika, 1 tsp ground ginger, 1 tsp onion powder, and 1 tsp salt; pulse to combine.

  3. 3

In a large bowl, toss the beef strips with the 2 tbsp vegetable oil, then coat evenly with the peanut spice mixture.

  4. 4

Thread the beef strips onto the soaked skewers, folding them accordion-style. Slice the 1 medium red onion into thick rings and separate.

  5. 5

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the skewers for 3-4 minutes per side, until charred at the edges and cooked through, about 8 minutes total.

  6. 6

Serve hot, scattered with the red onion rings. Add extra spice or a squeeze of lemon if you like.
