Ingredients
- 1 lb beef steak
- 1 lb frozen french fries
- 4 cups lettuce
- 1 medium tomato
- ½ medium onion
- 3 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 425°F. Spread the 1 lb frozen fries on a baking sheet and bake until golden and crispy, about 20 minutes, shaking halfway.
- 2
While fries bake, rub the 1 lb steak with 1 tbsp olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over high heat until smoking.
- 3
Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, until a brown crust forms and it feels firm but springy when pressed. Transfer to a plate and let rest while you finish the salad.
- 4
In a large bowl, toss the 4 cups lettuce, 1 sliced tomato, and 1/2 sliced onion with the remaining 2 tbsp olive oil and a pinch of salt.
- 5
Slice the rested steak against the grain and serve with the fries and salad on the side.
