Ingredients

  • 1 lb minced pork
  • 1 cup basil leaves
  • 4 red chili peppers
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cups cooked rice

Instructions

  1. 1

Mince the 4 garlic cloves and 4 red chili peppers together until coarse. Heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat until shimmering.

  2. 2

Add the garlic-chili mixture and stir-fry until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the 1 lb minced pork and spread it out; let it sear without stirring for 1 minute.

  3. 3

Stir-fry the pork, breaking it up, until it is no longer pink and starts to brown, about 4-5 minutes. Add the 3 tbsp soy sauce and stir to coat.

  4. 4

Turn off the heat and stir in the 1 cup basil leaves until they wilt. Serve immediately over the 2 cups cooked rice.

  5. 5

Optional: add a pinch of sugar or a splash of fish sauce for extra depth.
