Ingredients

- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- ½ tsp ground turmeric
- ½ tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp salt

Peel the 1.5 lb potatoes and cut into 1/2 inch cubes. Place in a bowl of cold water for 5 minutes, then drain and pat dry with a clean towel.

Heat the 2 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the 1 tsp cumin seeds and cook until they sizzle and become fragrant, about 30 seconds.
