Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • ½ medium red onion, finely diced
  • 1 can (28 oz) canned crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp dried oregano

Instructions

  1. 1

Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, cumin, diced onion, 1 tsp salt, and 0.5 tsp black pepper in a bowl until just combined.

  2. 2

Roll mixture into 16 meatballs, each about 1.5 inches across.

  3. 3

Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering, about 90 seconds.

  4. 4

Working in batches, brown meatballs 2–3 minutes per side until golden. Don't stir constantly — let them develop color.

  5. 5

Add crushed tomatoes, vinegar, oregano, and 0.5 tsp salt to the skillet. Stir gently to coat.

  6. 6

Simmer uncovered for 8–10 minutes until sauce thickens slightly and meatballs are cooked through.
