Ingredients

- 2 whole dried chile (guajillo or ancho), seeded
- 1 can (15 oz) canned tomato sauce
- ½ cup beef broth
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 lime lime (juiced) + cilantro (chopped) for finish

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Brown ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, until no pink remains, ~6 minutes.

Toast dried chiles in a dry pan 30 seconds, then soak in 1 cup hot water for 3 minutes until soft.

Blend soaked chiles with their soaking water until smooth. Strain through a fine sieve into the skillet.

Add tomato sauce, beef broth, and cumin to the skillet. Stir and simmer uncovered for 8 minutes until thickened.
