Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 large yellow onion
  • ½ cup crème fraîche
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 475°F. Roll out pizza dough on a floured surface into a thin rectangle, about 1/8-inch thick.

  2. 2

Transfer dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment. Prick all over with a fork.

  3. 3

Cook bacon in a skillet over medium until crisp, about 5 minutes. Remove and crumble; reserve 1 tbsp fat.

  4. 4

Slice onion thinly. Sauté in reserved bacon fat over medium until soft and golden, about 8 minutes.

  5. 5

Whisk crème fraîche, egg, nutmeg, salt, and pepper in a bowl until smooth.

  6. 6

Spread cream mixture over dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border. Scatter onions and bacon on top.

  7. 7

Bake until crust is golden and edges are crispy, 12–15 minutes. Slice and serve warm.
