Ingredients

  • ½ lb ground beef
  • ½ lb chicken breast, diced
  • 1.5 cups long-grain white rice
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (canned)
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 4 pods whole cardamom pods
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds

Instructions

    Heat 2 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add cardamom and cumin seeds, stirring until fragrant, about 60 seconds.

    Add ground beef and diced chicken, breaking up with a spoon, until no pink remains, about 5 minutes.

    Stir in rice, coating it with oil, then add canned tomatoes and broth. Bring to a boil.

    Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed, about 12 minutes.

    Fluff with a fork. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
