Spanish Jamón & Almond Montaditos

Ingredients

  • 8 slices crusty bread (baguette or ciabatta), sliced 1/2-inch thick
  • 4 oz jamón serrano, thinly sliced
  • 1 whole ripe tomato, halved
  • ½ cup mixed nuts (almonds, marcona almonds, or walnuts), toasted & chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

    Rub the cut side of the tomato halves briskly over each bread slice until the surface is stained red and slightly wet.

    Drizzle each slice lightly with olive oil and season with a small pinch of salt and pepper.

    Drape a small fold of jamón serrano on top of each oiled slice.

    Sprinkle the chopped nuts evenly over the jamón and serve immediately.
