Ingredients
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 whole egg
- ½ tsp cream of tartar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon (for coating)
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar (for coating)
- 2 cups eggnog (for serving)

Preheat oven to 375°F. Mix 2 tbsp cinnamon and 2 tbsp sugar in a small bowl.

Stir softened butter and 3/4 cup sugar together in a large bowl until creamy, about 1 minute.

Add egg and cream of tartar to the bowl, stir until combined.

Fold in 1.5 cups flour with a spoon until no dry streaks remain.

Roll dough into 1-inch balls, roll each in cinnamon-sugar, space on an ungreased sheet pan.

Bake until golden and set on edges but still soft in the center, 10–12 minutes.

Cool on the pan 2 minutes, then transfer to a plate. Serve warm with eggnog for dipping.
