Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ⅓ cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup canned pitted cherries in juice, drained
  • ½ cup dark chocolate, chopped (or chocolate chips)

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a 9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.

    Whisk together flour, sugar, eggs, and butter until smooth and well combined, about 2 minutes.

    Spread batter into the prepared pan. Scatter drained cherries and chopped chocolate evenly over top.

    Bake for 14–16 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with just a few crumbs.

    Cool in the pan for 5 minutes. Slice into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
