Ingredients
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup (1 stick) butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
- 1.25 lbs (about 8–10 plums) fresh plums

Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a 13×9-inch sheet pan with parchment or grease lightly.

Cream butter and sugar in a bowl until pale and fluffy, about 2 minutes with a spoon.

Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt until just combined.

Spread batter evenly across the pan. Halve the plums, remove pits, and press them cut-side down into the batter in rows.

Bake until the cake is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 12–14 minutes.
