- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 3 medium apples (Gala or Honeycrisp), peeled and sliced 1/4-inch thick
- 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon

Preheat oven to 375°F. Melt butter in a 10-inch cast iron skillet over medium heat.

Whisk together flour, sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Add eggs and whisk until smooth.

Pour batter into the hot skillet. Arrange apple slices evenly over the top in overlapping rows.

Bake for 12–14 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the cake (not an apple) comes out clean.

Let cool in the pan for 2 minutes. Dust with extra cinnamon and serve warm from the skillet.
