- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup plain yogurt
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ cup cherries

In a bowl, mix 1 cup semolina, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 cup yogurt, and remaining 3 tbsp melted butter until combined.

Pour batter into dish, spread evenly, and bake for 20 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

While cake bakes, simmer 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar for 5 minutes until syrupy. Pour syrup over hot cake.
