Ingredients

  • 1 lb sushi-grade tuna steak
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 scallions
  • 1 tsp wasabi paste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. 1

Pat the 1 lb tuna steak dry and season generously with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over high heat until shimmering.

  2. 2

Sear the tuna for 1 minute per side, until the outside is browned but the center remains rare. Transfer to a cutting board and let rest for 2 minutes.

  3. 3

Thinly slice the tuna against the grain and arrange on a plate. Drizzle with 3 tbsp soy sauce and squeeze the juice of 1 lemon over the top.

  4. 4

Garnish with 2 sliced scallions and 1 tsp wasabi paste. Serve immediately with extra soy sauce on the side if desired.
