Ingredients

  • 8 oz ahi tuna steak
  • 2 whole crispy tostadas
  • 1 whole avocado, ripe
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 4 whole cherry tomatoes
  • ½ whole lime

Instructions

  1. 1

Pat ahi dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

Spread sesame seeds on a small plate. Press both sides of ahi into sesame seeds until coated.

  3. 3

Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high until it shimmers, about 60 seconds.

  4. 4

Sear ahi 90 seconds per side without moving. Center should remain rare; edges look opaque.

  5. 5

Slice avocado in half, remove pit, and scoop onto the two tostadas. Slice ahi into strips.

  6. 6

Top each tostada with ahi strips and halved cherry tomatoes. Squeeze lime over top; serve immediately.
