Ingredients
- 12 oz pasta (such as linguine or spaghetti)
- 8 oz calamari rings
- 1 lb mussels, cleaned
- 8 oz shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley or chives, chopped
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- 1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the 12 oz pasta and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup pasta water, then drain.
- 2
While pasta cooks, heat the 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Add the 3 minced garlic cloves and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- 3
Add the 1 lb mussels and 8 oz shrimp to the skillet. Cook, stirring, until shrimp turn pink and mussels open, about 4-5 minutes. Discard any unopened mussels.
- 4
Stir in the 8 oz calamari rings and 1 cup heavy cream. Simmer gently until calamari is just tender and sauce thickens slightly, about 3-4 minutes.
- 5
Add the drained pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat. If too thick, add reserved pasta water a splash at a time until saucy.
- 6
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle with the 2 tbsp chopped parsley or chives and serve immediately.
- 7
Optional: add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a squeeze of lemon for extra brightness.
