Ingredients
- 500 g mushrooms
- 1 large onion
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 cloves garlic
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- 1
Clean the 500g mushrooms with a damp paper towel and slice them. Peel and thinly slice the 1 large onion.
- 2
Heat the 2 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until the butter foams.
- 3
Add the sliced onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and golden, about 5 minutes.
- 4
Add the sliced mushrooms and 2 minced garlic cloves. Spread them in a single layer—don't crowd the pan.
- 5
Cook without stirring for 3 minutes to let the mushrooms brown, then stir and continue cooking until they release their liquid and it evaporates, about 5 more minutes.
- 6
Season with the 0.5 tsp salt and 0.25 tsp black pepper. Stir well and cook for 1 minute until everything is glossy and tender.
- 7
Serve hot as a side dish or on toast.
