Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin or tenderloin, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 8 count bamboo skewers, soaked in water 30 minutes
- 3 count shallots, thinly sliced
- ½ cup kecap manis (sweet soy sauce)
- 1 count lime, juiced
- ½ count red chili, minced (optional)
- 8 leaves butter lettuce or romaine leaves
- 2 tbsp fresh cilantro and green onion, chopped
Instructions
- 1
Thread beef cubes onto soaked skewers, leaving 1 inch at each end. Pat dry with a paper towel.
- 2
Warm kecap manis in a small bowl. Stir in sliced shallots, lime juice, and minced chili if using.
- 3
Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat until smoking, about 2 minutes.
- 4
Grill skewers 3–4 minutes per side, rotating once, until edges are charred and beef reaches desired doneness.
- 5
Brush grilled beef generously with kecap manis mixture. Let cool 1 minute so lettuce won't wilt.
