Ingredients

  • 1 lb Halloumi or Kefalotyri cheese
  • ½ cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 whole Fresh lemon
  • ½ teaspoon Dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon Sea salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon Black pepper

Instructions

    Cut the cheese block into 0.5-inch thick slices, about 3x2 inches each.

    Pat cheese dry with paper towels.

    Pour flour into a shallow bowl and season with oregano, salt, and pepper.

    Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F over medium-high heat.

    Coat each cheese slice lightly in seasoned flour, shaking off excess.

    Fry cheese slices 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy, working in batches.
