Ingredients
- 1 cup white rice
- 4 cups whole milk
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 sticks cinnamon sticks
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- 1
Rinse the 1 cup rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain well.
- 2
In a large saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, 4 cups milk, 2 cinnamon sticks, and 0.25 tsp salt. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- 3
Reduce heat to low and cook, stirring frequently, until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened, about 25-30 minutes. The pudding should coat the back of a spoon.
- 4
Remove the cinnamon sticks. Stir in the 0.5 cup sugar and 1 tsp ground cinnamon until fully dissolved.
- 5
Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring, until the pudding is creamy and slightly thickened. It should look glossy and hold its shape when spooned.
