Ingredients

  • 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 stalks green onions, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. 1

Toast the 2 tbsp sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat, shaking often, until fragrant and lightly golden, about 3 minutes. Transfer to a small bowl to cool.

  2. 2

In a small bowl, whisk together the 3 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp rice vinegar, 1 tsp sesame oil, and 1 tsp sugar until the sugar dissolves. Set aside.

  3. 3

Pat the 1 lb shrimp dry with paper towels. If you like, slice them in half lengthwise for a more delicate bite.

  4. 4

Arrange the shrimp on a serving plate. Sprinkle with the toasted sesame seeds and the 2 sliced green onions.

  5. 5

Serve immediately with the dipping sauce on the side. For a kick, stir in chili flakes or grated ginger if you have them.
