Ingredients

  • 1 lb rice cakes
  • 1 package instant ramen noodles
  • 4 oz fish cakes
  • 3 tbsp gochujang
  • 1 tbsp gochugaru
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3 stalks green onions
  • 3 cups water

Instructions

  1. 1

In a large pot, combine 3 cups water, 3 tbsp gochujang, 1 tbsp gochugaru, and 1 tbsp sugar. Stir over medium heat until the sauce dissolves, about 3 minutes.

  2. 2

Add 1 lb rice cakes and 4 oz fish cakes. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cook until rice cakes are tender and chewy, about 10 minutes.

  3. 3

Add 1 package ramen noodles (discard seasoning packet). Cook until noodles are just tender, about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. 4

Slice 3 green onions thinly. Stir half into the pot and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  5. 5

Serve hot, garnished with the remaining green onions. Enjoy the spicy, sweet broth with the chewy rice cakes and noodles.
