Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup plain yogurt
- 2 medium potatoes
- 1 small onion
- ¼ cup fresh cilantro
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons oil
Instructions
- 1
In a large bowl, mix 2 cups flour, 0.5 cup yogurt, and 0.5 teaspoon salt. Add water gradually to form a soft dough. Knead for 5 minutes, cover, and rest for 20 minutes.
- 2
Boil 2 medium potatoes until fork-tender, about 15 minutes. Drain, cool, then peel and mash them in a bowl.
- 3
To the mashed potatoes, add 1 small finely chopped onion, 0.25 cup chopped cilantro, 1 teaspoon garam masala, and 0.5 teaspoon salt. Mix well and divide into 4 equal balls.
- 4
Divide the rested dough into 4 balls. Roll each ball into a 4-inch circle. Place one potato ball in the center, gather the dough edges over it, and pinch to seal.
- 5
On a floured surface, gently roll each stuffed ball into a 6-inch flatbread, being careful not to tear the dough.
- 6
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each flatbread for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown spots appear and the bread puffs slightly. Brush with oil while cooking.
- 7
Serve hot with yogurt or chutney.
