Ingredients
- 1.5 lb picanha steak
- 6 cloves garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper

Pat the 1.5 lb picanha dry with paper towels. Score the fat cap in a crosshatch pattern, then season both sides with 1 tsp salt and 0.5 tsp black pepper.

Heat a large skillet over high heat for 2 minutes. Add 2 tbsp olive oil and place the steak fat-side down. Sear until the fat is golden and crispy, about 4 minutes.

Flip the steak and add 6 garlic cloves, smashed. Cook for 3-4 minutes, basting the steak with the garlic-infused oil, until the steak reaches your desired doneness (125°F for medium-rare).

Transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 5 minutes. Slice against the grain and serve with the garlic cloves and pan juices.
