Pasta with Broccoli and Cheese

Ingredients
- 8 oz shell pasta
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp salt

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the 8 oz shell pasta and cook until al dente, about 9 minutes, stirring occasionally.

In the last 3 minutes of cooking, add the 3 cups broccoli florets to the pot. Cook until bright green and tender, about 3 minutes.

Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and broccoli. Return them to the pot.

Stir in the 2 tbsp olive oil, 2 minced garlic cloves, and 1 tsp salt over low heat, tossing for 1 minute until fragrant.

Remove from heat and stir in the 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, adding a splash of reserved pasta water if needed, until melted and creamy. Serve immediately.
