Ingredients

  • 10 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 slices bread, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¾ cup cheddar or gruyere cheese, shredded
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley or thyme, chopped

Instructions

    Toast bread slices in a skillet over medium-high heat until golden on both sides, ~2 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate.

    In the same skillet, sauté garlic over medium heat until fragrant, ~30 seconds.

    Add mushroom slices and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden and liquid evaporates, ~4 minutes.

    Divide mushrooms among toast slices and top each with cheese.

    Cover skillet and cook over medium-low heat until cheese melts, ~1 minute.

    Sprinkle fresh herbs on top and serve immediately.
