Ingredients

  • 2 lb mussels
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. 1

Scrub the 2 lb mussels and pull off any beards. Discard any that are open or cracked.

  2. 2

Melt the 2 tbsp butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the 2 minced garlic cloves and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  3. 3

Add the mussels and 1 cup heavy cream. Cover and cook until the mussels open, about 5-7 minutes, shaking the pot occasionally.

  4. 4

Stir in the 1 tbsp orange zest and 1/4 cup chopped parsley. Cook for 1 more minute until the sauce is slightly thickened.

  5. 5

Discard any unopened mussels. Serve immediately with crusty bread for dipping.
