Ingredients

  • 8 leaves fresh mint leaves
  • ½ oz simple syrup
  • 2 oz bourbon whiskey
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 1 sprig fresh mint sprig (for garnish)

Instructions

    Place mint leaves in a chilled cup. Gently press with the back of a spoon until fragrant—don't crush completely.

    Pour simple syrup over the mint. Stir gently to combine, ~10 seconds.

    Add bourbon and fill the cup with crushed ice, stirring to chill.

    Top with another small handful of crushed ice for a frosty exterior.

    Garnish with a fresh mint sprig tucked into the ice. Serve immediately with a straw.
