Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1.5 cups basmati rice
- 1 medium yellow onion
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 3 cups chicken broth
- ¼ cup fresh cilantro

In a bowl, mix the 1 lb ground beef with 1 tsp garam masala and a pinch of salt. Roll into 12 small meatballs.

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large pot over medium-high. Brown the meatballs for 5 minutes, turning until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.

In the same pot, add the 1 sliced onion and cook until soft, about 4 minutes. Stir in the 1.5 cups rice and 1 tsp garam masala, toasting for 1 minute until fragrant.

Pour in the 3 cups chicken broth and bring to a boil. Return the meatballs to the pot, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.

Fluff the biryani with a fork and top with the 0.25 cup chopped cilantro. Serve hot.
