Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 large onion
- 4 slices sandwich bread
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper

Thinly slice the 1 large onion. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and add the onion. Cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and golden, about 10 minutes.

Add the 1 lb ground beef to the skillet with the onion. Break it up with a spoon and cook until browned and no longer pink, about 8 minutes. Season with 0.5 tsp salt, 0.25 tsp black pepper, and 0.5 tsp dried oregano.

In a small bowl, mix 2 tbsp mayonnaise with a pinch of dried oregano (or fresh herbs if you have them) to make a quick sauce.

Toast the 4 slices of bread until golden and crisp.

Spread the herb mayonnaise on each slice of toast. Pile the meat and onion mixture onto two slices, then top with the remaining bread. Cut in half and serve warm.
