Ingredients
- 1.5 lb beef sirloin
- 12 oz button mushrooms
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- 1
Cut the 1.5 lb beef sirloin into 1-inch cubes. In a bowl, whisk 3 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 tsp salt, and 0.5 tsp black pepper. Add beef and toss to coat. Let marinate for 15 minutes at room temperature.
- 2
While beef marinates, clean the 12 oz button mushrooms and trim the stems. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 20 minutes to prevent burning.
- 3
Thread the marinated beef and mushrooms onto skewers, alternating pieces. Leave a small gap between pieces so they cook evenly.
- 4
Preheat a charcoal grill to medium-high heat. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 10-12 minutes, turning every 3-4 minutes, until the beef is browned on all sides and reaches your desired doneness (about 135°F for medium-rare).
- 5
Remove skewers from the grill and let rest for 5 minutes. Serve hot, with a squeeze of lemon or a sprinkle of fresh herbs if you like.
