Ingredients
- 8 whole tostada shells
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- 1
Heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 diced onion and cook until soft, about 3 minutes.
- 2
Add 1 lb ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and no longer pink, about 8 minutes.
- 3
Season the beef with 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper, and 1 tsp cinnamon. Stir well and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- 4
Preheat your oven's broiler. Place 8 tostada shells on a baking sheet in a single layer.
- 5
Divide the beef mixture evenly among the tostada shells, about 1/4 cup each.
- 6
Sprinkle 2 cups shredded cheese evenly over the beef-topped tostadas.
- 7
Broil for 2-3 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Watch closely to avoid burning.
- 8
Serve immediately, optionally with salsa, sour cream, or hot sauce.
