Ingredients
- 2 shots espresso
- 1 cup whole milk
Instructions
- 1
Brew 2 shots of espresso (about 2 oz) directly into a large mug.
- 2
Pour 1 cup cold whole milk into a metal pitcher. Tilt the pitcher slightly and steam the milk with the steam wand, keeping the tip just below the surface, until the milk stretches and increases in volume, about 10-15 seconds.
- 3
Lower the steam wand deeper into the milk to create a whirlpool, heating until the pitcher is too hot to hold comfortably (about 150°F), about 20-30 seconds. Tap the pitcher on the counter to pop any large bubbles.
- 4
Swirl the pitcher gently to incorporate the microfoam, then pour the steamed milk into the espresso, holding back the foam with a spoon.
- 5
Spoon the remaining foam onto the top of the latte. Serve immediately.
- 6
Optional: dust with cocoa powder or cinnamon if desired.
