Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- ¾ cup milk
- 2 cups vegetable oil
- ½ cup jelly

In a large bowl, whisk together the 2 cups flour, 2 tsp baking powder, and 3 tbsp sugar. Stir in the 3/4 cup milk until a soft dough forms, about 1 minute.

On a floured surface, pat the dough to 1/2-inch thick. Cut into 8 rounds with a biscuit cutter or glass.

Heat the 2 cups oil in a deep skillet over medium-high until a pinch of dough sizzles, about 5 minutes. Fry the doughnuts in batches, 2 at a time, until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.

Drain on paper towels. While still warm, poke a hole in each side and spoon in the 1/2 cup jelly. Dust generously with powdered sugar if you have it.
