Ingredients

  • 500 g fish fillets (e.g., carp or cod)
  • 400 g potatoes
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 2 whole red chili peppers
  • ¼ cup parsley
  • 1.5 L water

Instructions

  1. 1

In a large pot, sauté the 1 sliced onion in 2 tbsp oil over medium heat until soft and golden, about 5 minutes.

  2. 2

Stir in the 2 tbsp tomato paste and 2 tbsp paprika, cook for 1 minute until fragrant and deep red.

  3. 3

Add the 1.5 L water, 2 whole red chili peppers, and 400 g peeled and cubed potatoes. Bring to a boil, then simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.

  4. 4

Cut the 500 g fish fillets into chunks and add to the pot. Simmer gently until fish is opaque and flakes easily, about 8 minutes.

  5. 5

Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in the 0.25 cup chopped parsley just before serving.

  6. 6

Serve hot with crusty bread on the side.
