- 12 whole okra
- 4 whole dried chili peppers
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 whole scallions
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- ½ teaspoon salt

Wash and dry the 12 okra, then trim the stems. Slice the 2 scallions thinly, separating white and green parts.

Heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add the okra in a single layer and cook without stirring for 3-4 minutes until the bottoms blister and char.

Flip the okra and cook another 3-4 minutes until blistered on all sides. Add the 4 dried chili peppers and the white scallion parts; stir-fry for 1 minute until fragrant.

Pour in 2 tbsp soy sauce and 0.5 tsp salt. Toss everything for 1-2 minutes until the sauce coats the okra and sizzles.
