Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- ½ cup plain yogurt
- ¼ cup fresh mint
- 2 stalks green onions
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- 1
Grate the 1 medium onion and squeeze out excess liquid. Mince the 2 garlic cloves. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, garlic, 1 tsp cumin, and 1 tsp salt. Mix until just combined.
- 2
Shape the mixture into 8 oval patties, about 1 inch thick. If using skewers, mold the meat around them. Chill for 10 minutes to help them hold together.
- 3
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the kebabs for 4-5 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through (internal temperature 160°F).
- 4
While kebabs cook, make the sauce: stir together the 0.5 cup yogurt, 2 tbsp chopped mint, and 1 sliced green onion. Season with a pinch of salt.
- 5
Serve the hot kebabs with the yogurt sauce and sprinkle with remaining mint and green onions.
