  • 8 sheets phyllo dough
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup orange juice

    Preheat oven to 350°F. Melt 4 tbsp butter. Brush a 9x9-inch baking dish with some butter.

    Layer 8 phyllo sheets in the dish, brushing each with melted butter. Trim edges to fit if needed.

    Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and crisp. Meanwhile, simmer 1 cup sugar, 0.5 cup water, and 0.5 cup orange juice for 5 minutes until syrupy.

    Pour the hot syrup over the baked phyllo. Let soak for 10 minutes, then cut into squares and serve.
